Services @ DBC

The following page offers a brief introduction to what it looks like when Daventry Baptist Church meets together. From what follows you should get a fairly good idea of what it feels like to attend one of our services. For more details - or to receive news of upcoming events - please contact us.

Sunday Service

We do not currently meet on Sunday mornings for a regular service. However, we do meet on Sunday's at 7pm at various addresses. Please contact us for further info.

See some of the scriptures and arguments in favour of putting more emphasis on meeting in smaller groups here.

House Groups

Our House churches (Home Groups/Cell groups) are the core meeting in the life of Daventry Baptist. The main focus of the groups is mutual encouragement and bible study. We also pray for anything that people request and worship God with songs.

We currently have two groups. One meets on alternate Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm and the other meets on Sundays at 6pm. Over time, these groups are restructuring into (loosely) a North Daventry and South Daventry group. Eventually, we are aiming - by the grace of God - to plant a number of groups throughout the town, each seeking to reach a different and distinct section of Daventry. As a result, each group will develop its own style and structure as it attempts to embody the grace of God in meaningful ways.

We don't force anyone to attend a particular group - and it is not necessary to attend the group that meets in your part of town. What we are seeking is people with a heart for a particular estate who would then gather together with others possessing a similar burden. If you are interested in attending a particular group, or would like more information, please contact us, or listen out for the announcements on Sunday to find out where we're meeting.

Joint Prayer Meetings

These are held quarterly at the United Reformed Church hall, Bowen Square, near Daventry Town Centre. The service begins with worship, and concentrates on praying for the Town, and any other local or global issues.
