Annual General Meeting

A quick reminder to all our members:

We will be having our AGM on Wednesday February 11th. The meeting will be held at 7.45pm at the URC on Sheeth Street.

A re-designed web-site

With the arrival of a new year, we thought it was appropriate to give the web-stie a new look. Thanks to Felix web Creations, we've gone for a simpler, crisper design; hopefully it will now be easier for everyone to view and enjoy.

Alpha Course

We are currently involved in a joint Alpha Course with the United Reformed Church in Daventry. If you would be interested in finding out more about Alpha or in joining or helping the next course, please contact us.

Our vision

When we began, we said that there were just 2 questions we had to answer:

  1. What is the mission that God has got for us in Daventry?

    2. and
  2. What kind of church do we need to be to fulfil that mission?

The result of this was a vision to reach each of the estates in Daventry with the aim of starting a group (House Church/Home Group/Cell Group - they mean the same thing for us!) on each of the estates. You can read more on the vision here.

The gist of the vision is that as Daventry's different estates are each fairly distinct, each group would need to spend time and energy discovering what it means to embody the grace of God for their estate. What we envision is a number of distinct groups having their own style and structure, ethos and emphases. This may involve sacrifice and 'dying' to what is comfortable for us - but that is what being the body of Christ is all about.

Part of our vision-seeking involved discussing how we would answer the question, "What is Daventry Baptist all about?" As a result, we highlighted the following three values:
